Skin Care Instructions
How to prep your skin prior to spray tan and care for it after your spray tan.
IF YOU’VE GOTTEN SUNBURN IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS, WHETHER YOU HAVE PEELED OR NOT, YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET A SPRAY TAN. THE SOLUTION WILL MAKE IT PEEL OR RE-PEEL AND YOU WILL HAVE WHITE PATCHES THERE.
PRIOR TO SPRAY TAN:
Exfoliate with a mitt or loofah (not with any oil based sugar or salt scrubs), shower & shave 1-2 days BEFORE your spray tan appointment, not the same day of.
Moisturize heavily in the days leading up to your appointment, but not after your last shower prior to spray tan.
If getting a pedicure or having waxing done, be sure to get it done at least 24 hours prior to your spray tan.
THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT:
Shower and lightly exfoliate with water only.
Do not use body wash so that it does not leave a barrier on your skin.
Do not shave or use any lotion day of appointment.
You cannot shower within 3 hours of your appointment as the color will not take.
Do not apply lotion, moisturizers, make up or perfume prior to your appointment. Go easy on deodorant.
Wear dark loose fitting clothing. No tight clothing. Remove any jewelry.
NO BAR SOAP OR DOVE, DIAL, IRISH SPRING TYPE PRODUCTS before (or after) your spray tan!

MAINTAINING YOUR COLOR AFTER SPRAY TAN:
Avoid activities that may cause you to sweat until you rinse.
Do a quick warm water rinse around the 8 hour period or when you get up the next morning to wash off bronzer. Leaving it on any longer will only dry out skin & allow bronzer to stain skin.
Peeing down leg in shower will remove your spray tan on leg.
Do not use any body wash, a loofah or a wash rag on skin, lotion or other products for 24 hours as to not affect the color development.
After 24 hours, wash with an all natural recommended body wash or soap. No Dove, Dial, Irish Spring type products.
Lots of products out there contain harsh chemicals that will strip the color. I cover this in more detail below.
After shower, pat skin dry, do not scrub.
No exfoliators, loofahs or wash rags should be used until you are ready for your tan to be removed.
Immediately apply lotion and do so twice a day. This step is the most important step to maintain your spray tan as long as possible and keep it looking healthy.
If you go into the ocean, swimming pool or a hot tub, be sure to apply waterproof sunblock hourly to keep the color from fading.

I sell products specifically made for spray tanning, but can be used anytime. They help keep your spray tan looking its best and lasting its longest. I sell bar soap, lotion & sunblock made for spray tans.

Why You Shouldn't Settle for Just Any Solution
Photos of other solution outcomes
Below are some photos giving you examples of why not all spray tan solutions are the same. I sampled dozens of solutions and spent so much money trying to find the best solution on the market. My regular clients also helped out in this process. Everyone agreed that Colour Me Bronze Professional was by FAR the best solution on the market.Â
Colour Me Bronze Professional costs 2-3x's what many other salons use. But my prices are still very similar to theirs.Â
The pictures below are why you should never settle for those $20-25 spray tans. They don't last nearly as long, can't be customized, have the gross "spray tan smell" and have a patchy fade.

This is from a very popular solution I sampled once.
This photo was taken right after my first rinse 12 hours after my spray tan. Colour Me Bronze Professional will never look patchy or orange.

This is how the most popular solution on the market fades!
This solution that I used to carry is alcohol based, which is very drying to the skin. Most spray tan techs do not realize there are solutions on the market that do not fade like this, so they continue to carry this.Â
Colour Me Bronze Professional is aloe based, so it is moisturizing to the skin, not drying, so it won't fade like this.

Ugly Bronzers
Other solutions have unnatural looking bronzers so you can't go out in public after a spray tan. But Colour Me Bronze has a very natural bronzer making it possible for my clients to get a spray tan prior to going out with the girls or even on their lunch break.
The picture below of is of the natual bronzers in Colour Me Bronze Professional solution.
